30 Minutes Preference are 'premium' sister kits that are a little more detailed than their counterparts.
Note that 30MP is not the same as 30MS, these are less generalized kits, so they are not fully compatible. In this example, the waists and legs are thinner, with a different torso structure, however you should be able to swap hair, face plates, arms and so on, for the most part, just don't be surprised if something doesn't fit perfectly.
Nijika Ijichi, like all the rest, is a pun name based on Asian Kung-Fu Generation, this time the drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi. Her given name translates to Rainbow Summer, fitting her sunny disposition and total opposite to Bocchi.
Aesthetics:
The kit (like all of them) represents Nijika in her stage outfit (the logo is molded detail). Unlike the rest of the girls and foregoing a skirt, she wears trousers with suspenders along with her band t-shirt and a polka-dot neck ribbon, giving her a bit of an eccentric clown look.
She has the choice between matching sneakers to the rest of the band or the glossy loafers that Bocchi also has.
Her hair doesn't slot headbands, but it has a nice triangular ahoge (slot the ball joint into the bangs before attaching them to the head) and a long ponytail with a braided circle that sits a bit loosely and tends to fall off.
Compatibility:
Nijika seems to have Color A skin (30MS Rishetta etc). It's difficult to tell with these but Kita seems to also be A while the other two are Color B.
You can't really swap out all of her skin color due to the small shin parts, but if you omit the ribbon, you can swap it out for another neck, in case you wanted a Color B or C style model.
The hair, face plates, arms+hands and shoes should all be entirely fine for use with other kits.
The Drums:
So spectacular that they get their own section. The bass drum pedal alone is a single molded piece without a third insert and it looks nigh on perfect. Bandai must be using some sort of magical math and geometry.
Bass-drum with two rack toms + separate pedal
Floor tom
Snare drum
Hi-hat with built in pedal
Three stand-alone cymbals of various sizes
Stool and two individual drum sticks
This is a full and nicely color separated drum kit in what seems to be true 1/12 size and not 'kid drums' or anything like that, so you should be able to seat a 1/12 Spiderman behind them (maybe boost the stool a little) and not have it look like he's oversized.
The cymbals are all metal injection plastic in dark brass. They all have a flow line, but for what it is, it looks perfectly fine, same with all the steel or aluminum looking plastic, which is too intricate to suffer from injection flow.
The drums use five white PET discs that slot in between the body and rim.
Equipment:
1 Bracelet accessory
2 Tampo-Printed Face Plates - Closed eyes toothy grin and wide-eyed happy open mouth
4 blank Face Plates
12 Hands - 3 for holding drum sticks
2 pairs of Shoes - Sneakers and loafers
1 Sticker Sheet - with polka dots for the ribbon (water slide alternative included)
1 Water Slide Decal Sheet - 18 different faces, many of which are ubiquitous and useful for all 30MS blank faces
A bunch of extra parts and joints of various kinds
Conclusion:
Ryo felt like a repeat, but Nijika is definitely her own model, in large part due to her much more expressive face and her fun outfit. Oh and the massive drum set helps too.
This kit is expensive for a 'girlie' kit, but as an import and due to being a larger box, that's how it goes. Whether it's worth it is up to you. Personally I enjoy the kit and drum set.
As usual the facial expressions (decals) are really good, especially without her amber eye color, like a mischievous cat face, a blank dead stare and a variety of closed eyes faces that can be used with any model. This has been a staple across the Bocchi kits and a huge bonus for 30MS type models, since the official water decals for those are extremely generic.
