Take your fantasy warrior to impenetrable new heights with the 30MF Class Up Armor (Rosan Fortress) upgrade set from Bandai Spirits!

Armor Cross into High-Tier Jobs

Part of the exciting 30 MINUTES FANTASY line, this set allows you to customize and evolve your figures into advanced job classes using the Armor Cross system. By combining these parts with the separately sold 30MF Rosan Lancer, you can complete the heavily armored Rosan Fortress class.

Lightning Element Core and Heavy Armaments

Infused with the power of the Lightning element, this kit includes a specialized Element Core along with reinforced defensive plating and a massive Long Lance, giving your build both exceptional reach and an imposing frontline presence.

The Class III Rosan Fortress is meant to be a direct upgrade to the Rosan Lancer, however this is entirely self sufficient and does not need anything from the Lancer to complete the set.
There's no "specialized Element Core" in this kit, that's likely a reference to the November release Liber Fortress, which includes a full figure. This is ONLY a Class-Up kit.

How exactly it's an upgrade to give a Lancer a smaller shield and a flat-tipped lance, wearing less fitted plate armor, I have no idea. If I had to rationalize it, it's sort of an aggressive sidegrade, rather than a straight upgrade, going from baby sitting a gate to being part of an active front line (not much of a "fortress" though).

Aesthetics:
Most of the armor is a very dark gunmetal (it has subtle swirls), with black cloth, a silver padded side skirt (more swirls), plume and Rosan emblems. The overall aesthetic seems to be a Arthurian styled knight of the aristocracy or somewhat ceremonial/ornate in nature, as the armor features a lot of decorative detail, while the Lancer largely has more of a German Gothic design.

The included alternative helmet (back and front) is more of a heavy foot soldier type, reminiscent of the Onion Knights from various Souls games, a sort of bascinet. There is also a bulkier and cloth covered breastplate.

The included heavy lance with a crescent axe hilt, is very reminiscent of a Monster Hunter type gun lance.

The Liber version, when released, will have a heavier face plate (and mouth armor, along with the same bascinet), a bladed back-head armor and Liber crests. The rest is the same, albeit in other colors.

Compatibility:
You can put this on any Silhouette 1 model (not at all restricted to Lancer), while Silhouette 2 is largely incompatible - all leg armor, forearm and collar will NOT fit, while the chest/back plates, shoulders, skirting and the wide head armor fit to some degree (narrow head armor fits loosely). Just in case you imagined that the "Fortress" would fit onto a stocky tank body.

I haven't tested with Silhouette 3, but it should be somewhat okay, since it's a thinner body.

Since this is an asymmetrical armor (shoulders and skirts), doubling up on this kit will get you two distinctly different looks, especially if you use the alternative helm and breastplate. Meaning you have to get three, if you also want an "original" Fortress.

Conclusion:
This is a fun armor kit, it's nice that it's a full set and not reliant on specific class armor, like most of the earlier Class-Up kits. That being said, the ring parts needed to equip the skirts and pauldrons are not included, so you either have to have bought Knight/Fighter Option kits for grey ones or steal them from another kit.

I've put one 'ornate' symmetrical set on a Rosan Knight Silhouette and it looks great. I have Rosan Lancers, but I don't like the yellow gem and ring parts, I don't think it fits. If you want it on a dark character, the Rosan Assassin or Necros Knight silhouettes fit perfectly.
I plan to try and customize the armor to fit onto a Fighter (Silhouette 2) for an *actual* Fortress character, but it's going to require a lot of cutting and modifying.

Trivia: This is the first Rosan kit to have any metallics. That used to be a Liber only thing.
