Reasons for delays on pre-orders

1. Production and Supply Chain Issues

  • Production delays: Factories may experience capacity issues, material shortages, or technical malfunctions.

  • Supply chain problems: Transportation, customs, and logistics issues (especially internationally) can cause significant delays.

2. Quality Control

  • Manufacturers or brands often want to ensure quality before a product is shipped. If something doesn't meet the standard, it may require re-production or adjustments.

3. Licenses and Approvals

  • For branded merchandise (e.g., movies, games, anime, etc.), approval from rights holders is often required – and this can take time.

4. Marketing and Timing

  • Sometimes, releases are deliberately postponed to hit a better release date (e.g., coinciding with a premiere, season, or campaign).

5. Pre-sales vs. Real Demand

  • If demand exceeds expectations, it may lead to the production of more items than planned – which can extend the timeline.

6. Unforeseen Global Events

  • Pandemics, wars, strikes, natural disasters, and similar events affect everything from production to shipping.
