The Levinix is part of the Maxion forces: sentient artificial mecha lifeforms fighting against Earth and their alien opponents in a three-way battle.
The Levinix itself is the culmination of capturing and researching enemy mecha, being a versatile and adaptable unit that is highly customizable (aka you are encouraged to make your own version). This approach is something Bandai has been pushing hard with alternative limbs and parts kits, but here it's part of the lore that no two are alike and that their loadout depends on their role.
The Type-B is more melee-oriented and takes advantage of its stealthy appearance in night and space missions.
Aesthetics:
The Type-B uses a stealthy purple on matte black color scheme, utilizing its skirt parts to give it a long coat silhouette.
Unlike the Type-A it does not have any transparent parts, as these have been replaced with purple and satin black. It also uses a different head, chest piece, shoulders, skirts and armor plates, so unlike most 30MM color-swapped models, this is meaningfully different from the Type-A.
Mechanics/Compatibility:
The model is built on the Spinatio joint runner and has that familiar double polycap midsection. Apart from the ones in the thighs for a total of four ball polycaps, the rest is plastic-on-plastic and is about as unremarkable as a 30MM model gets, with no extra moving shoulder joints. All you get are drop-down hips and the usual C-clip bends.
The exceptions are the backpack-mounted holsters that pivot, so it can draw from over its shoulder.
When it comes to compatibility, everything is modular and you can combine the back and side skirts into a shield, or hang them from other points. You can move the holsters elsewhere and move its shoulder plates to it thighs or arms.
I'm sure you can swap heads, arms and legs as usual, but I'm not seeing anything that makes this model particularly adaptable or really any sort of related, matching kit to expand on them. There are plenty of hard points and you can move several of the armor pieces around, especially with the small runner containing male-to-male 3mm pegs, but that's about it.
Equipment:
5 Hands - Holding, spread open and one angled downwards hand (fencing stance) - They share the same two included back plates
2 Revolvers - These are identical to the Type-A and have a tab for weapon parts
1 Extra Broad Sword - A hilt that can fit two long blades to form one - These can be fitted onto the revolvers and be made into Gun Blades
1 Chakram - A circular throwing weapon with three dagger points on it, using tiny old-style square connectors - Can be folded out
1 Spare Dagger Blade (nowhere to put it)
Assorted C-clip and 3mm peg connection parts for storing the chakram/sword or equipping the optional shield
Conclusion:
There are reasons for why you generally don't make black plastic models, or why you don't use "pure" black as your main color scheme - it drowns out the details. I have low light at my desk and I can't tell most of its detail from all the stuff behind it. When it's lit up properly, it looks cool and the hard points look less obvious.
While the Type-A is more of a 'sci-fi soldier', the Type-B reminds me more of a drone ninja, with its opaque purple visor and square shoulders, giving it (ironically) less of a main character vibe.
Same as the other one, it's no more or less adaptable than anything else, it's very typical of a 30MM mecha, with nicer looking material and detail.
Ultimately I think I prefer the Type-A due to its individual daggers as the chakram is large, bulky and looks unwieldy. However, it does have potential due to its 3mm hard points and the fact that it folds out, giving you a triple mount for all the bits that use that old tiny square peg.
